This type of physical therapy is provided at the patient’s home. I have extensive experience in working with patients at their home. Call me for a free consultation. Visits are scheduled weekly at a frequency of 2 to 3 times per week, and for a period of 30 to 60 minutes depending on the patient’s tolerance. There is set criteria for this type of service. Generally, the patient’s physical condition, and their functional ability must be at dependent level. This means that the person is not able to get out of the bed on their own or walk without assistance. Patients who fall into this category are most often diagnosed with one of the following conditions:
- Parkinson’s,
- Dementia without ability to walk,
- Stroke,
- Joint replacement,
- Severe back problems,
- Poor muscle strength
- Poor endurance.
These are the most common situations that I have encountered in my practice but there are other conditions that would warrant home physical therapy services. Your doctor or physical therapist can advise you if you qualify.
