Physical therapy uses various means or types of equipment to correct or strenghten the body, but the most important is the therapist's hands. The hands are able to correctly manipulate and adjust the body's joints into proper alignment. They are also instrumental in evaluating and diagnosing the results of different injuries. At times additional equipment is needed to complement the hands to improve the strength and endurance of the area being treated. In most cases there are generally two categories of execrcise equipment that would be employed:

  • Strengthening equipment
  • Cardiovascular equipment
